About AMRITACON 2020

AMRITACON is an annual event hosted by the Dept of Community Medicine and Public Health in collaboration with various departments of Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. This year we are collaborating with the Dept of Geriatrics to bring you the conference on the theme of ‘Healthy Ageing: Knowledge to Action”. We also have

international collaborators to enrich the academic experience, last year it was Harvard Global Health institute. This year we are associating with Newcastle University (UK), the leaders in Ageing from the 'National Innovation centre for Ageing'.

The conference is scheduled on the 4th and 5th  of December 2020 and aims to cater to a wide spectrum of public health professionals including Medical, Dental, Nursing, Social sciences etc.

Healthy Ageing is the functional ability that enables older people to be, and to do, what they have reason to value. This ability is determined not just by the intrinsic capacity of the individual, but also by the physical and social environments they inhabit.

The world at present is witnessing the phenomenon of ageing, which has brought with it myriad socio-economic and medical problems. In this context, the conference will showcase experiences with regard to the different facets of ageing and its corresponding support structures. This conference  will bring together leading researchers in the world and will also provide a platform for researchers and public health professionals from various disciplines to present their research.

Embattled with COVID-19 let us look beyond to a better, brighter future.
