Abstract Submission

Amrita International Public Health Conference(AMRITACON)  is happy to announce that Abstracts submission is now open for the conference  to be held on November 25,26 2019 in Kochi, India.

 

Submission Guidelines

Abstracts should be related to at least one of the topics listed below.  Please note that papers under any domain are encouraged to reflect on the impact of gender within that domain.

  • Health Technology Assessment

  • Gender in Health & Disease

  • Health system research

  • Reproductive, Adolescent and Child Health

  • Non Communicable diseases

  • Communicable diseases

  • Neglected Tropical diseases

  • Geriatrics

  • Public Health Policy and ethics

  • Oral Health

  • Nutrition

  • Mental Health

  • Urban Health

Applicants should choose the topic that most closely matches the theme of their abstract. Abstracts should be submitted through the online system following registration.

Submission Guidelines

  • Submission of multiple overlapping abstracts is discouraged.

  • All submitted abstracts identified with plagiarism will be rejected forthwith.

  • The presenting author should have registered for the conference. Only one person will be allowed to present. Presenting author will be given the certificate of presentation and others will be given participation certificate provided they register for the conference.

  • The e poster template will be made available on the website after acceptance notification.

  • Abstract already published as an abstract or full manuscript or that will be published prior to October 31, 2019 cannot be submitted

  • Please do not try to influence the organizers for inclusion as oral presentation

 

GUIDELINES FOR PREPARATION OF ORAL PRESENTATION

 

Presenting Authors will be intimated regarding the acceptance of the abstract EITHER AS ORAL PRESENTATION OR POSTER PRESENTATION as determined   by the scientific committee by October 30, 2019.

  • Oral Presentation MUST BE  in English.

  • Final Oral Presentation must be prepared for a total presentation of 8 minutes: 6 min for presentation and 2 min for Questions & Answers.

  • Please note that Session Chairperson has the right to terminate your running presentation in case you exceed the allotted time of 6 min + 2min.

  • Presenters MUST ENSURE that there is no copyright and trademark violation in their presentation. Appropriate source, reference must be given.

  • Presentation Schedule and  Location/Venue will be intimated in advance.

  • Please carry a soft copy of Oral Presentation file in a USB drive free from any malware/viruses to the venue in case of any technical issue in uploading the same.

  • Please arrive in the designated hall at least 10 minutes in advance. Ensure that your presentation is  uploaded on the PC/Laptop with the help of Hall Assistants.

  • Abstracts should be structured as Introduction, Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusion.

  • Abstract can only be submitted online after selecting the preferred mode of presentation oral/poster/award

  • The theme of the abstract should also be indicated during online abstract submission

 

GUIDELINES FOR PREPARATION OF POSTER PRESENTATION

A poster should be self-contained and self-explanatory, allowing different viewers to proceed on their own, while the author is free to supplement or discuss particular points raised in enquiry. Posters will be selected for presentation by the Scientific Committee after a  peer review process.

 

Abstracts submitted for consideration of a Poster Presentation will use the following criteria:

  • Identification of relevant conference theme(s) to which submitted.

  • Written in English. Font: Times New Roman, size 12.

  • The title should be as brief as possible but long enough to indicate clearly the nature of the study. Capitalise the first letter of each word (except conjunctions). No full stop at the end.

  • The abstract submitted should not exceed 300 words. (Any abstract that exceeds the required word count will not enter the review process).

  • Abstract is required to include details of either research, development and/or innovation, with sufficient information to enable the review panel to make a decision on appropriateness for Poster presentation in theme and context of conference. 

  • Abstracts should be structured as Introduction, Objectives, Methods, Results, conclusion. 

  • Abstract can only be submitted online.


 

GENERAL INFORMATION:

  • The presenting author should have registered for the conference. Only one person will be allowed to present. Presenting author will be given the certificate of presentation and others  will be given participation certificate provided they register for the conference.

  • The poster should be of  size 3 by 4 feet vertical .

  • The author must remain by his/her poster board for the duration of the one-hour session.

  • Posters may be set up 30 minutes before the start of the session.

  • Presentations should be taken down within 30 minutes after the session ends. Display materials not removed following the conclusion of the session will be discarded.

Abstract already published as an abstract or full manuscript or that will be published prior to October 31st  2019 cannot be submitted.

 

FORMAT OF ABSTRACTS

Title: Please be as brief and explicit as possible. Do not use abbreviations or acronyms in the title.

Name(s) of Author(s)

First author: Type the complete name

Co-authors: Type the complete name. The co-authors should be cited in order of their contribution in the study; main contributors should be listed first.

Abstract:

Limit the text to 300 words

Use subtitles to mark the parts of the abstract (Please follow structured format, indicating following five parts of your abstract)

  • Introduction – provide the background to the problem/issue

  • Objectives – state the purpose of the study (research question) or a hypothesis

  • Methods – methods used to address the objectives

  • Results – the results obtained in summary form

  • Conclusion – a summary of your findings with recommendations

Always define abbreviations and acronyms including standard measures. Place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses after the full word the first time it appears. Each abstract must be complete i.e. it must include all information necessary for its comprehension and not refer to another text.

Delegates who are interested in Award Paper Presentation are instructed to submit Complete Paper along with abstract on or before 20 September, 2019 to following Email Address awardpaper2019@gmail.com

Guidelines for full paper

  • The submission should be in English with a word limit not exceeding 2500 words(excluding abstract, reference,author name)

  • Research paper which has been submitted/presented/published will not be accepted

  • It should be in MS Word format(.doc/.docx format).No other format will be accepted

  • The word file should be double spaced with  Times New Roman font,size 12 and justified.

 

  • It should be in the standard IMRAD(introduction, methods, results and discussion) format

  • The word file should contain title of the study ,names of the authors and co authors, abstract and main text

  • The abstract should be submitted via the abstract link by  selecting award category  and then the full paper should be sent to  awardpaper2019@gmail.com
